I ask all beginners to reach a certain level within 9 lessons.

If you are not able to reach this level in time, it’s fine! - But we’ll take a break from lessons until you do.

By the 2nd lesson all beginners must:

  • memorize string names

  • know the majority of beginner vocabulary

(If there was trouble with pitch and/or rhythm recognition at your trial lesson, you should show significant improvement.)

By the 9th lesson all beginners should:

  • know all beginner vocabulary

  • memorize all 9 common chords and be able to play the majority of transitions

  • play the C major scale in tempo and be able to name each note

(If there was trouble with pitch and/or rhythm recognition, this should be “solved” by the 9th lesson.)

In addition to lessons, here you’ll find flash cards and certain recordings to help you learn all of this information.
